Week 1: Gathering Supplies

Finding the Right Containers
You don’t need to go to the store and buy fancy pots and planters. Look around your home and you will find everything you need to grow a prosperous container garden!

Containers that work well include: milk cartons, soup cans, fruit cups, 2 liter soda bottles, or anything that is sturdy and deep enough for roots to grow.

Finding Things to Grow
Look around your kitchen and you will find lot’s of things that you can grow! This week I explored my pantry and found onions, garlic, and coriander (aka cilantro).

I will let the onion and garlic dry out for a few days and then it should be ready to plant in soil or grow hydroponically in water.

What containers and potential plants do you have in your home? Leave a comment and let us know!
