School Week Menus: Allergies & Dietary Restrictions 


At NorthBay your child’s safety is our top priority, this includes the safe preparation of our delicious meals. Each year the NorthBay dining team caters over 300,000 meals to our visiting students and guests with a variety of food allergies. Every effort is taken to accommodate all genuine food allergies in a way that is safe and makes students and guests feel at home.

Along with these four most common menu examples is a carb count menu for students with diabetes. If your child is lactose intolerant soy milk and lactose free milk are always available. Please note that the NorthBay kitchen is both a nut and shellfish free kitchen*.

*There are packaged foods (individually sealed candy and snacks such as Snickers Bars or Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups) available for purchase in our snack bar that do contain nuts and nut products.  There are signs posted at our snack bar area indicating this availability.  Contact our Wellness Center Manager/RN if you have any concerns with the packaged products in the snack bar.  The “open purchase items” available in the snack bar, such as ice cream, are nut free.

Each week before students arrive the NorthBay dining manager is supplied with a complete list of student allergies for the coming week. If the dining or wellness center managers have questions or concerns regarding your child’s allergy(s) they will be in direct contact with you prior to your child’s arrival at NorthBay. If there is an allergy that we believe we are unable to safely accommodate the NorthBay staff will contact you directly. In these rare instances parents are encouraged to accompany their child to camp and to provide the food for their child to the NorthBay kitchen who will prepare it accordingly.

Meal times for breakfast, lunch and dinner are 8:30am, 12:00pm, and 6:00pm respectively.  Friday’s brunch meal is at 10:00am.
